Siblings' dispute by Gnine Siblings' dispute by Gnine
I may have a bit of a weakness for Loki with his kids. Okay, a HUGE weakness. And, really, it may be for all Supervillains with their children cause I always had a major thing for Lex being cute with Kon when I was in SV, hmmm...^__-

Alas, as popular as preggers!Loki is, him with his kids doesn't seem as common in fic...:-p

THe ironic thing is that Loki is the mother of all of these. He ate the heart of angrboda and became pregnant.

No. He only gave birth to the horse. The mother of the others is Angurboða, a female Jötunn.

It depends on which versions you read. In the original version(before christians started changing it to fit their religion), Angrboda was a witch that came to plague Asgard. They tried setting her on fire but her heart could not be burnt and with it she resurrected herself again and again. Loki then came up with an idea and told Odin to burn her a final time, when she was reduced to ashes he ate the heart, no heart, no Angrboda. However her dark magic manifested inside him and he birthed her children. Then his wife came home.

Actually, Iceland was Christianized precisely at the year 1000 AD. The Norse Mythology was written in 1263 (or maybe around that year) by the Icelandic historian, politician and philosopher Snorri Sturluson, Chieftain of the Sturlung family clan. Snorri was a Christian, not a pagan. He was inspired by Christianity, Norse legends and even by the tales of the Natives in North America. The version you read must have been written later on after the Prose-Edda was given out. Angurboða was never killed, Loki slept with her once while in Utgard. Loki may have given birth to Sleipnir the horse, but the rest were given birth by Angurboða. His wife also gave birth to his sons, Váli and Narfi.
Before the writing of the Edda and before the Vikings were converted to Christianity, all Norsemen mostly just worshipped Thor, Odin, Freyr, Freyja, Bragi, Ægir, Loki and Tyr. Their histories weren't really known much (the Norsemen cared about their own legacies, not much about their afterlives) until Snorri wrote it down.
Snorri wrote it down because he knew that the Viking age was coming to an end, Christianity had replaced it. And he wanted to mean that a new era was upon the people.

I love Snorri Sturluson, he was like the Tolkien of the middle ages. He was offered to become an Earl by the King himself, but he rejected it. Saying that he wanted to be an inspiration, not a ruler (although he liked being a leader, he just didn't want to RULE over anyone).

Heheh, well, that seems to be one of those changing things depending on which source for the myth you're following. Some have it that Angrboda birthed them, some have Loki. ^_^

I just noticed that Hel looks strikingly similar to Loki, she's even got the same green and black scheme and her dress has a similar fashion style to Loki's costume, she's also got his black hair and green eyes. Yep, she's a daddy's girl. :aww: I've seen some cute pics of daddy Loki but I've always wanted to see Thor as an uncle taking care of his niece and nephews.

 So he has an eight-legged foal, a wolf, a snake, and what looks like a toddler version of the Corpse Bride. Are ANY of his children normal humanoids? I think Zeus just got out-kinked.

Hehehe, yeah, he is supposed to have "normal" humanoid twins in some legends (though they meet a very normal, gruesome end). And in some other stories he has bastards spread throughout the lands.

But I just have so much fun with his monster children: Sleipnir (8 legged horse, which Loki was the mother of, after transforming into a mare to distract a stallion as part of a challenge). The other three wore all bore by the same mother, a giantess Angrbora: Fenrir the wolf, Jormangandr the serpent, and Hel, born half dead, half alive and later presided over Hel.

And then there was the time he supposedly spent a while on Earth has a milk-maid and bore children during that time...

But yeeah, Loki and Zeus definitely could definitely have a kink-off! ^___-

Jeesh, was there really nothing better for the gods to do? It seems like every deity has billions of offspring spread across multiple kingdoms and species.

How is it one god and one giantess produced a wolf, a serpent, and a zombie child? I can kind of understand the zombie child, but how did they explain the wolf and the serpent?

 A milkmaid? SERIOUSLY? Did he learn nothing from his first pregnancy? Well, I guess there are worse mascots for transgender families.

And that's just Loki! Were Thor or Odin ever as desperate for creative sexual exploits?

I think slightly less on the 'creative' but as for the number I think Thor and Odin were both up there. Ah, gods ^___-

No wonder they were always fighting each other; it was either that or find some mortal woman a god hadn't slept with yet, and I bet those were harder to find than Venus de Milo's arms.

So, do you know who were his wives? (I'm guessing he had multiple since all his children look different...Unless he slept with random other goddesses but they weren't his wives)

Well, for Sleipnir (the eight-legged horse), Loki is the mother, rather than the father. The father was a Stallion, whose name I'm blanking on. Loki shape-shifted into a mare do distract said stallion, and got a bit more than he bargained for. The other three, Hela (the little half-dead girl), Fenrir (the wolf) and jor...mungun...something (blanking totally on name, the great serpent) all had the same mother, the giantess, Angrabodr, who was not his wife. He's said to have normal twin boys with his wife, Sigyne.

LOL! Really? I can't believe that Loki can interchange between male and female AND shape shift! :giggle: revamp Man, I can believe that Loki got into that kind of a mess with a stallion  Why didn't he just turn back into his original form?
So the other thee children here are all from one Giantess? :O How come they all came out different?vincentwthplz
So in total, Loki has six kids? Wow, what a god. Hahaha, I guess being mischievous doesn't help all the time! (In the case of the horse-child) Giggle -revised- 1

Yeah, and all of them suffer horrible fates. Hel is banished to the world of the dead, Fenrir is locked up because he grows too quickly, Jormungand was imprisoned in the ocean, Sleipnir is taken by Odin as his steed when he was just a foal, and on of the boys - Vali - was turned into a wolf and savaged his brother - Narfi.
